4. Third-Party Websites and Embedded Content
The Site links to third-party websites and services, including Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. It also includes content from third parties, such as embedded YouTube videos and the Pipeline Suite pre-qualification form. Those companies may collect information about you, including through their own cookies, under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
-
Necessary cookies: needed for the Site and its forms to work. These include the cookie that remembers your consent choices and a session cookie used by the pre-qualification form. They cannot be turned off.
-
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics. These help us understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors find us. Analytics cookies are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time.
-
Advertising cookies: used during retargeting campaigns by advertising platforms such as LinkedIn. They let those platforms show Roche ads to past Site visitors and measure ad performance. Advertising cookies are off by default and are only set if you click “Accept All” or turn them on under “Customize.” See Section 6.
When you first visit, a banner explains our use of cookies. You can:
-
Opt out of analytics cookies by clicking “Reject All” or turning analytics off under “Customize”.
-
Allow advertising cookies by clicking “Accept All” or turning them on under “Customize”.
-
Change your choices at any time using the “Your Cookie Choices” link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Site may not work as intended.
To learn more about Google Analytics, see . You can also install the .
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. The Site recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of both analytics and advertising cookies. If your browser sends a GPC signal, those cookies will not be set. Because there is no common standard for “Do Not Track” signals, we do not respond to them separately.
6. Targeted Advertising
From time to time, we run advertising campaigns that show ads to people who have previously visited the Site. This is sometimes called “retargeting.” To do this, we may use advertising tags from platforms such as LinkedIn, Google and Meta. These tags collect information about your visit, such as pages viewed, your IP address, and cookie or device identifiers, so those platforms can show you Roche ads on their sites and measure how well the ads perform.
Advertising tags only run if you consent to advertising cookies. You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time by:
-
Clicking “Reject All” on the cookie banner, or turning off advertising cookies under “Customize”;
-
Using the “Your Cookie Choices” link in the footer of any page to change a previous choice;
-
Enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser; or
-
Adjusting your ad preferences directly with the platform, such as in your LinkedIn account settings.
You can also ask us to opt you out using the methods in Section 7.
