The scope of work at Tony Alamo Elementary School included the construction of a new 29,814-square-foot addition as well as upgrades in the existing building.
EducationThe two-story addition is constructed on a load-bearing spread footing foundation system with a masonry load-bearing steel joist building frame system. The exterior walls are structural CMU. The addition is home to 18 classrooms, two flex spaces, and a teacher workroom. The scope of work also included the associated on-site work to support the new building and off-site street work for the new electrical transformer that was placed on the site.
The existing elementary school received electrical and mechanical upgrades as well as a new roof. Work in the existing school was completed during normal school operations.
