The scope of work for the Aims Community College Fort Lupton Campus welding lab project included the expansion of the existing lab space as well as an update to the existing space.
EducationThe 3,115-square-foot addition is constructed on a drilled pier/grade beam foundation with a steel joist/braced joist and masonry load-bearing steel joist building frame system. The addition houses new welding equipment as well as a new gantry crane for material handling. The work was completed during the 2019 spring semester while the students were in class.
Upon completion of the addition, during the summer of 2019, Roche completely renovated the existing 7,358-square-foot space. The existing space now houses new state-of-the-art welding booths and fabrication equipment.
Site development included overlot grading, utilities, parking lot paving, site lighting, and storm water system.
