EducationThe building frame system is a steel frame/composite and masonry lead-bearing steel joist with metal stud exterior wall infill. The exterior is finished with metal panels, brick veneer, composite wood, and aluminum storefront and curtain wall.
The school houses two pre-K classrooms, four kindergarten classrooms, 36 standard grades 1-8 classrooms, ten flex areas/”maker space”, four science classrooms, two music classrooms, an art classroom, media space, two sensory rooms, eight small group classrooms, a gymnasium, stage, administration area, and kitchen/cafeteria space. Unique interior features include radiused glazing, back-painter glass wainscot, perforated stainless steel stair railing, polished concrete public spaces, and terrazzo tile public stair treads.
Site development included overlot grading, utilities, parking lot paving, site lighting, landscaping, site retaining walls, and storm water systems. Also included in Roche’s scope of work was a city street to create access to the site, a turf football/soccer field with an acrylic surface track, and softball field.
