Located at UCHealth’s Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Roche Constructors subdivided an existing physical therapy room located in the emergency room area into two secure mental health rooms with a security station.

Project Description

Scope of work included demolishing one door and a small portion of wall for a new door; removing existing acoustical ceiling and gurney bed hookups for water, air, and medical gas; completing epoxy paint finish; installing medical grade, welded, sheet vinyl flooring, high-impact safety glass, and light fixtures; and patching the VCT in the corridor.

Because the work was completed in the emergency room, infectious control was critical. ICRA was a level 4, which meant Roche implemented and used the following: negative air machines with double HEPA filters, full-height wall partitions, sticky mats, bootie covers on boots, and full enclosures over all trash and material entering and exiting the site.
