Salida del Sol Academy is a kindergarten through eighth-grade dual-language charter school within Greeley-Evans School District 6. The two-story school is built with a masonry load-bearing steel joist building frame system on a load-bearing spread footing foundation system. The gymnasium is a pre-engineered metal building structure.
Roche completed this project using our design-build experience. Design-build is a contractual agreement where the contractor provides both design and construction services. This arrangement allows the owner to have a single point of contact from preconstruction to project close-out. Roche embraces the role of being the project leader, and as a design-build expert, we believe that open communication and teamwork are necessary to successfully complete these types of projects.
EducationThe facility includes 44 classrooms including three full science labs, art room, band room, choir/drama classroom, media center, library with computer stations, warming kitchen and lunchroom with commons area, teacher offices adjacent to the classrooms, special education office and workroom, and main administration office with conference room and workroom. Each classroom has an amplified sound system so students can better hear and understand the teacher and the lesson being taught. The security of the building is maintained with a card access system for exterior doors along with CCTV security cameras.
Our scope of work also included site development such as utilities, parking lot paving, site lighting, landscaping, and off-site infrastructure. We also completed a physical education area that includes a four-lane track and soccer field.
