The Orchard Town Center is an open-air, mixed-use regional shopping center that consists of 971,000 square feet of outdoor retail including big boxes, department stores, and smaller upscale retailers along with restaurants, housing, and office space. So far, this project includes 25 buildings in a village setting anchored by two department stores, a 12-screen movie theater, a SuperTarget, and a group of midsize retailers. Designed to be reminiscent of the main streets of prairie towns in the first half of the 20th century, the shopping experience provided retail to an underserved and growing market in the northern Denver area.
RetailRoche was selected as the construction manager responsible for all the site and building construction. This work included all perimeter parking areas, extensive landscaping, the construction of 20 core and shell buildings for small upscale retailers and restaurants on a pedestrian retail plaza or PRD (Pedestrian Retail District), and the construction of a group of turn-key buildings for middle size tenants outside the PRD. A unique aspect of this project was the PRD, which ties all the buildings together into a village-style, open-air lifestyle and entertainment venue. In addition to this work, we also completed the infrastructure work for the north development residential portion of the project and constructed an REI and additional retail building.
