Roche Constructors completed the site improvements at Gregory Point and the rehabilitation of Lace House in 2024.
Government/JusticeThe scope of work for Gregory Point, located at the intersection of Gregory and Cooper Streets, included new decorative steel railings, concrete sidewalk demolition and reconstruction, asphalt paving, and repairs to the existing stone retaining walls. Roche also added new speakers, light poles, and communication enclosures that allow for wi-fi to be used throughout Gregory Point.
Lace House received a full restoration including a new forced-air heating system, single-person restroom, minor structural work, electrical work, and interior finish upgrades. This included restoring the Gothic windows, installing insulating covers over the rest of the windows, tearing down and putting up new specialized wallpaper, replacing the faux finishes on some doors, laying new carpet and painting the floors, upgrading the bathroom with new tile and toiletries, upgrading the electrical and adding plumbing, coating the basement with fireproofing, and touching up paint throughout the house. The Lace House is used as a museum to display furnishings and fixtures used during the mining era of Black Hawk.
