Located in the Northfield area of Denver, the 113,600-square-foot school serves preschool, elementary, and middle school students through the 8th grade. The two-story school is a steel frame/composite slab and masonry load-bearing steel joist building frame system constructed on a load-bearing spread-footing foundation system.

Education

Project Description

The school features a gymnasium; cafeteria/multi-purpose area; science rooms; and music, art, and technology rooms in addition to regular classroom space and associated office space. Unique exterior features on the playground side of the building are the brick patterns mimicking an ant farm. There are also sandblasted patterns on the concrete sidewalks that mimic tree roots. Unique interior features are the detailed steel handrails that feature a pattern of the Fibonacci number sequence.

Our scope of work also included sitework such as utilities, parking lot paving, site lighting, and landscaping. We also built playgrounds for the preschool, elementary, and middle school students, complete with soccer and softball fields.
