Centennial Middle School Renovation

Centennial Middle School was constructed in 1960 and was renovated in 1971, 1991, 1999, and 2011. This 2018 school renovation included improvements to the auxiliary gym, science labs, and the music classroom as well as a new food lab, new auditorium, and cafeteria seating, among other improvements. The library was reconfigured to create a collaborative, instructional, quiet study, and flexible meeting spaces as well as a green screen video production room. The school also received security upgrades and energy efficiency improvements as well as renovations to learning spaces to support 21st Century teaching and learning.

Roche’s scope of work included abatement, a new roof over aged areas, HVAC upgrades, new plumbing and electrical, fire alarm system replacement, new windows and lighting, and minor architectural finish upgrades.
The school renovation started during spring break with asbestos abatement and demolition. Once school was out for the summer, the extensive work began on the inside and outside of the building. Exterior work included a new basketball court, new sidewalks, and drainage improvements.
