Project Description
The scope included asbestos abatement; boiler, chiller, and VAV replacements; and complete systems upgrades to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, security, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.
The building houses approximately fifteen departments that are vital to the college’s success and had to remain uninterrupted during the renovation. We staged a temporary office space to relocate the building’s occupants to while we worked. The temporary office space was in the center of building and was the last portion of the building to be remodeled. The various departments were rotated in and out of the temporary office space as the remodel progressed.
The scope of work also included adding a new façade to the perimeter of the existing precast cement building. The façade facelift included a new entry with a standing seam, open air canopy feature and new hardie board siding to the perimeter of the entire building. In order to do this, additional waterproofing and rigid insulation was installed. We also installed new landscaping, concrete seatwalls, sidewalks, and a brick entry on the street side for a sign wall.
