At the start of construction, the third floor was home to Aims’ radiology suite. Roche demolished and renovated two areas of approximately 3,686 square feet on the first floor. In order to accommodate the new radiology equipment, we constructed a new structural support system with extremely tight tolerances in order to hang the radiology equipment from the ceiling. Lead-lined walls, doors, windows, and glazing were also required in the rooms. Once the renovation was complete, the radiology program was relocated to the new first-floor space.
Roche then demolished the current labs on the third floor and renovated the 2,319-square-foot space to accommodate the phlebotomy, medical assisting, and nursing programs. An additional classroom was renovated to accommodate the nurse aide program.
The work was completed during the summer of 2019, so that the space was ready for students in August.
