Thomas J. Roche

President & CEO

Tom Roche is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Roche Constructors. As the CEO, Tom’s primary role is to provide leadership and overall direction for the company. Additionally, he formulates plans and policies to achieve corporate objectives and fulfills Roche’s commitment to its employees, clients, and communities. 

Tom and his wife Faith have raised three sons – Patrick, A.J., and Thomas – and now enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. Away from work, Tom is a member of the City of Greeley Police Department Chief’s Advisory Committee and participates in Pittsburg State University’s School of Construction Leadership Council. He is a founding board member of Salida del Sol Academy and an honorary lifetime member of the University Schools Board of Governors. He is also the founder of the P.B. Roche Memorial Baseball Training Facility. Tom is a Colorado Rockies fan, and in his free time, he enjoys biking and spending time outdoors.

Carlin Nafziger

Carlin Nafziger

Vice President of Operations

Carlin Nafziger is the Vice President of Operations for Roche Constructors. He started at Roche in 1986 after receiving encouragement from his stepfather to pursue a career in the construction industry. As the VP of Operations, Carlin provides high-level oversight of the operations and project management departments. During his tenure with Roche, Carlin has overseen the construction of $2 billion worth of projects across various market sectors. 

In his free time, Carlin enjoys outdoor family activities like camping and watching the Denver Broncos.

Matt Notter

Matt Notter

Chief Financial Officer

Matt Notter is the CFO for Roche Constructors. He started at Roche as a senior accountant in 2008 after earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming. As the CFO, Matt’s primary role is to provide oversight and leadership of the company’s accounting, IT, finance, human resources, and field equipment needs. Matt is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) and is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association and Institute of Management Accountants.

Matt enjoys home improvement projects, playing basketball and softball, hiking, biking, and trail running. When he’s not rooting on the Denver Broncos during football season, he relaxes by enjoying some of Colorado’s amazing beer selection.

A.J. Roche

A.J. Roche

Director of Project Development

A.J. Roche is the Director of Project Development for Roche Constructors. He joined the family business in 2014 with the desire to continue the legacy of the company. After completing his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Northern Colorado, A.J.  earned a master’s degree in energy management from the New York Institute of Technology. As the Director of Project Development, A.J. is responsible for identifying market sectors and geographical areas where the company can grow and developing the necessary relationships to do so. He also develops project opportunities by building corporate relationships with clients and industry leaders. Finally, A.J. assists in leading projects through entitlement, design, and preconstruction.

A.J. is a Denver Broncos fan and enjoys attending sporting events. When not working, A.J. loves spending time with his kids, golfing, traveling, and binge-watching The Office.

Katie Winter

Katie Winter

Director of Marketing

Katie Winter is the Director of Marketing for Roche Constructors. She started her career at Roche in 1998 while enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado. Her early days were spent as an intern assisting in a variety of departments. During her final year at UNC, Katie assumed the role of Marketing Coordinator and earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing. In 2008, she was promoted to her current role as Director of Marketing. This position has a wide range of responsibilities that help her maintain the company’s image while providing guidance and leadership to the marketing department. Her role requires preparing RFQs/RFPs, creating and maintaining marketing collateral, and overseeing the corporate website and social media accounts.

When she’s not working, Katie loves to spend time with her family, read, and enjoy the outdoors.

Thomas Roche

Director of Operations

Thomas started with the company in 2010 as a college intern. He moved into the full-time position of Project Engineer in 2012 and has since put in the work to advance in the company – he was promoted to Superintendent in 2016, Project Manager in 2017, Operations Manager in 2022, and finally to Director of Operations in 2024. As the Director of Operations, it’s Thomas’ responsibility to work with Vice President of Operations Carlin Nafziger to ensure the success of each project, from preconstruction to project completion.

Thomas and his wife have four children, and outside of work, they spend much of their time chasing those kids, including coaching their various sports teams. In his free time, Thomas enjoys following Colorado’s professional sports teams, watching Duke University basketball, and binging The Office or Parks and Rec.

Greg Lockwood

Greg Lockwood

Project Executive

Greg Lockwood is the Project Executive for Roche Constructors. Greg started with Roche in 1994 as a Project Engineer and has worked his way up to his current position. In this role, he leads our project management department while also taking on high-level project strategy initiatives, building and maintaining client relationships, and training and mentoring project managers. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Since joining Roche, he has worked on projects totaling $700 million.

In his free time, Greg enjoys hiking, camping, and skiing and spending time with his family. His favorite sports team is the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jake Wichmann

Jake Wichmann

General Superintendent

With 20+ years of experience in the industry, Jake started with Roche in 2007 as a Project Engineer. From there, he has climbed the ranks – he was promoted to Superintendent in 2011, Senior Superintendent in 2022, and to his current position as General Superintendent in 2024. In this role, Jake manages, mentors, and trains the site operations staff.

Jake has been involved with some of Roche’s largest projects including the Tointon Academy of Pre-Engineering, Orchard Town Center, and the Jail 2 West Expansion at the Weld County North Jail Complex.
