Accountant II


The role of Accountant II is to provide high-level administrative support by performing clerical functions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in real estate leases and maintaining accurate rental sheets on a spreadsheet
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll taxes
  • Review and investigate any billing discrepancies
  • Maintain project-related records (i.e. contracts, leases, bank accounts, payroll)
  • Monitor bank accounts
  • Be knowledgeable of the operation of all office equipment, personal computers, and communication system
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence including faxes and email
  • File documents for VP of Finance accurately and in a timely manner
  • Complete payroll and HR-related tasks
  • Manage storage facility personnel and oversee daily operations
  • Reconcile intercompany payables
  • Maintain records for insurance terms
  • Assists with annual tax return reporting
  • Maintain and monitor company cellphones, air cards, and jetpacks
  • Manage subcontract payables for specific projects
  • Assist with receptionist tasks
  • Assist with close-out material and IT-related tasks

  • Ability to communicate with fellow employees, outside customers, and vendors  in a professional manner
  • Good organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Efficient and timely administrative response
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and read and comprehend written materials
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize, and be flexible with daily work schedule
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook software
  • Maintain confidentiality is mandatory
  • Ability to use common sense approach to handle situations
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness in varying environments with varying tasks, responsibilities, and/or people
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and to effectively perform daily tasks
  • Thorough knowledge and usage of grammar, punctuation, and overall business writing as they pertain to this position


Education Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent and 5 years accounting experience in related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience


Salary Range:  

  • $40,000-$65,000
