Roche Constructors was awarded a 24,000-square-foot remodel of the third floor of the Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk, Colorado. This is Roche’s second project at the casino.
The remodeled area will house a sportsbook lounge and restaurant. The sportsbook area will contain a betting counter and bar along with gaming machines. The Mariposa Bistro restaurant will have a show kitchen, bar, seating area, and two private dining rooms. The back-of-house kitchen area will run the length of the room and contain a walk-in freezer/cooler, beer storage, and kitchen equipment. There will be high-end finishes throughout the space including stone countertops and stone wall coverings, wood flooring in the Bistro, tile and wood wall coverings, ceiling finishes, and a hanging fireplace enclosed in glass.
To complete this project, Roche will be working through multiple floors to tie into the existing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. A challenge of the project will be working behind temporary walls on the second floor, which is an active casino. We will be accessing existing systems in the ceilings for demolition and new work during the nighttime hours as not to disturb the daily operations of the casino and hotel.
Work is underway and completion is scheduled for mid-January.
