EducationThe four-story performing arts theater is a free-standing steel structure with an EIFS exterior over metal stud framing. The interior walls of the theater are wood veneer with a crown mold pattern. Acoustical sound panels hang from the steel structure and were also be placed on the walls and balcony rails. With seating for 728 people, the theater has a theatrical trap in the stage floor, an orchestra pit, and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system that is operated from two catwalks and a control booth. The building also houses a carpentry shop, backstage dressing rooms, and costume storage. The one-story visual arts building is constructed with exterior masonry walls with a structural roof system and houses several arts-related classrooms. The Performing Arts Theater construction scope of work also included the demolition of an existing building and parking lot.
