Our K-12 & Higher Education Construction Process

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from school districts, charter operators, and higher education clients evaluating a general contractor for a K-12 or campus construction project.

How does your education construction company handle construction at an occupied school?

Roche has completed additions and renovations at multiple schools while students and staff remained in the building. Our approach includes phased construction sequencing, temporary barriers, and dust control, scheduling loud or disruptive work outside school hours, and daily safety planning that accounts for student and staff activity nearby. On the Aims Community College Cornerstone Building Remodel, for example, Roche managed a full building renovation while approximately 15 active college departments remained operational throughout construction.

Which school districts has Roche worked with?

Roche has built schools for Clark County School District in Nevada, Weld County School District 6, Denver Public Schools, Jeffco Public Schools, Boulder Valley School District, and Weld RE-9 School District in Colorado. Roche has also worked with charter school operators, including National Heritage Academies, which runs more than 100 schools across nine states — including Cherry Creek School District in Cherry Creek, CO — and independent charter operators in the Northern Colorado and Denver Metro schools.

Does Roche work as an education construction company in both Colorado and Nevada?

Yes. Roche operates from offices in Greeley and Westminster, Colorado, and a Las Vegas, Nevada regional office that has been open since 1986. Colorado education projects include schools in Greeley, Denver, Lakewood, Louisville, Commerce City, Windsor, and Watkins. Nevada education work includes multiple projects for Clark County School District in Las Vegas and Henderson.

What size education projects does Roche take on?

Roche’s education portfolio ranges from small lab renovations of a few thousand square feet to full school replacements exceeding 100,000 square feet. The same preconstruction planning, schedule management, and safety standards apply to every project regardless of size.
