Community Information

Roche is committed to making a positive difference in the areas that we live and work. It is engrained in our company culture. Everyday we are reminded of it when we read the Promises that are part of our Vision and Mission statement:

Promise No. 3: Commit to the well-being and growth of our community. Respect and be respected

by dealing honestly and fairly with clients, employees, and citizens.

Essentially, we are dedicated to supporting our communities.

VOLUNTEERING, SPONSORSHIPS, & DONATIONS

Our employees participate in numerous volunteer opportunities each year. One of staple activities is participation in and sponsorship of the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure. We have been sponsoring the event in Las Vegas since 2002, and we sponsored the event in Northern Colorado from 2004 to 2008, at which point the event left the area.

Other events and organizations that we regularly support include some of the following:

  • American Cancer Society (including the annual Relay for Life)
  • United Way
  • Easter Seals
  • A Woman's Place
  • A Kid's Place
  • High Plains Chautauqua
  • Boys & Girls Club
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Ducks Unlimited
  • Weld Food Bank
  • Opportunity Village
  • American Heart Association

Roche employees also donate blood three or

fours times a year through Banner Health.

ROCHE CONSTRUCTORS WAPIYAPI CLASSICParklane Elemtary

Roche was the title sponsor for the Roche Constructors Wapiyapi Classic in Aspen, Colorado, on September 26, 2010.

The scenic 25- and 50-mile bike ride benefited Wapiyapi, a nonprofit organization that provides camps, retreats, and support to families affected by childhood cancer. The event, which was led by Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, had 300 riders and raised about $200,000.

Wapiyapi has had over 1,000 children participate in its camps since it was established in 1998. To learn more about the organization and help support its cause, please visit www.wapiyapi.org.

PARK LANE ELEMENTARY

Parklane ElemtaryRoche volunteered time and service on a library remodel for Park Lane Elementary School in Aurora, Colorado. Park Lane Elementary was one of 32 schools in the country selected by Target and the Heart of America Foundation to have its library remodeled. The $200,000 remodel was made possible through the School Library Makeover Program.

This project was a collaboration between the Heart of America Foundation, Target, and the Aurora School District. Roche coordinated the necessary work, and Malm Electrical Contractors, Walters Mechanical, and Wintergreen Construction Services assisted Roche with the remodel. The remodel included minor repairs and demolition, new carpet and furniture, light installation, interior paint, and a new layout.

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION

  • 2010 Jerry D. McMorris Community MVP: Thomas J. Roche
Colorado Coaches for Charity selects five Community MVPs each year. The awards are given to members of the community who show outstanding community service. In 2010, Tom Roche, President and CEO, was selected by University of Northern Colorado's coach Scott Downing to receive the Jerry D. McMorris Community MVP Award. Each coach also designates a charitable organization that will receive a grant from the Fisher DeBerry Foundation. The beneficiary for Tom's award was Youth and Family Connections in Greeley, Colorado. For years, Tom has helped meet the needs of many charitable organizations. His passion lies with the children of our community. Tom believes that interscholastic sports and extracurricular activities are crucial to create a desire to achieve high academic standards. This allows children the opportunity to create positive activities outside the classroom, encourages social skills and self esteem, and focuses on positive character development.
  • United Way of Weld County, 2011-12 & 2008-09 Centennial Circle Award: United Way's honor for companies that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and shown their commitment to United Way and the community.
  • United Way of Weld County, 2011-12 Silver Award: Corporate Per Capita & Employee per Capita: Presented for outstanding service to the people of the community and the United Way.

  • United Way of Weld County, 2009-10 Silver Award: Corporate Per Capita: Presented for outstanding service to the people of the community and the United Way.

  • Greeley Chamber of Commerce 2006 Winner's Circle Award: Roche was recognized as a Winner's Circle recipient because of our commitment, involvement, and leadership in the community.

BEING INVOLVED

Not only do we provide support and monetary donations to various organizations and events, we also ask our employees to get involved in their communities. This includes participating with local boards including town/city boards, school boards, community outreach programs, etc. It is our motto that to be a GOOD citizen, it is necessary to be an ACTIVE citizen.
